The devil is a LIAR! Don't you dare believe such a thing!
I'm pretty sure all of us at some point has believed, even if it was just for a second that God had forgotten about us. Life came around being life, throwing curve balls, uphill climbs, twist, turns, downward drops and everything in between. Causing us to have a thought that just maybe God had forgotten us. I am almost willing to bet that many of us has had that thought quite a few times in 2020, too.
The good news is though that surely God has NOT forgotten about any of us. In fact, we are living through this great plan that he has for our lives. Many of us notably know Jeremiah 29:11, which says "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." BUT, the magic for me happens next in verses 12 and 13. It says, "then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart."
See, we know that he has a great plan for us. We know that he is faithful to fulfill his promises to give us hope and a future, but do we know and keep our end of the promise? If we want to see God's plan come to fulfillment, we must call on his name, pray, and seek his face with all of our heart, even when we feel forgotten and alone. As you've probably read in many of my blogs, we make it through these moments by seeking his face wholeheartedly. We can't hope, pray, and declare his promises over our lives without seeking him continually. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work that way.
I beg of you to keep seeking the face of our Father. Keep calling on the name of Jesus, even when you think you have no words. Keep reading his word and applying it to your life. I have written on a sticky note in my office, "you get from the Word, what you put into it." Give a little more than before this week and watch God's presence overwhelm you like never before.
My dear family and sweet friends, you are NOT forgotten. God is literally sitting beside you, waiting to commune with you. Commit to communing this week. You lack nothing in his presence. Don't ever forget that.
