Running to Win

“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9:24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Hey fam, hey! *wipes forehead* I’ve been running after my purpose all week and I’m compelled to ask the same of you. As you begin to focus in on your goals for the upcoming month of March, I challenge you to run to win.

What exactly does this mean? I’m glad you asked. Running to win simply means to run with expectation and purpose. Run with heart and fulfillment. Run without fear and demand results. Don’t sit back and allow excuse after excuse to prevent you from winning what’s rightfully yours. All you need is a little dedication, commitment, and discipline.

You may ask what’s there to win and the answer is quite simple. Win what God has promised is yours. Peace, happiness, grace, abundance, love, favor, safety, joy, inheritance, freedom, healing, mercy, restoration, increase, discernment, and wisdom. (need I go on? 😉)

How do I win? Obedience! When you make a conscious decision to be obedient to the voice and word of God, the promises are automatically fulfilled.

Think of it in this manner. You’re at a park and God says swing. You get on the swing and use your legs to push off and the wind/gravity continues. With every push you give, wind/gravity or the Holy Spirit for this analogy pushes you further. The same applies to this season of running to win. Take the initial step at whatever it is God has asked of you and he will fulfill his promise.

If he’s asked you to pray. Pray without stopping, day in and day out. Pray whatever your heart speaks. Cover those he has asked you to cover in prayer and don’t anticipate a quick fix. Don’t anticipate seeing the end result, rather stay focused on his request of your prayers.

If he’s asked you to serve. Serve in that capacity like your life depends on it. Don’t compare yourself to what or how others are serving because you don’t know what he’s asked of them. Focus solely on what he has asked of you.

If he’s asked you to sacrifice, let go and let God. Don’t worry or be filled with anxiety about all of the what-if’s. Instead, stand boldly and confidently knowing that if he’s asked for it, he’ll provide whatever you lack and more.

Don’t be a slave to fear. Don’t be held captive by anxiety. Don’t be consumed by depression. Get up, get dressed, lace up your shoes and run. Run with purpose in your step. Run with your heart, mind, body, and soul set on receiving God’s promises. This is your winning season.

Xoxo,
