Real Love

Updated: Feb 14, 2020

Real love. I’m searchin’ for a real love. Someone to set my heart free, real love. I’m searching for a real love. You see I’m searchin’ for a real love and I don’t know where to go. - Mary J. Blige 🎶

Whew! Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, trophy, and medal. I know I’m not alone when I admit, I too, have been that woman searching for love in all the wrong places. It’s fine, you don’t have to raise your hand. LOL! I know you’ve been there too or shall I say are there? Bro, sis, search no more. Don’t search and definitely don’t settle for less than you deserve.

Don’t be consumed with social media looking at all of the love in the air singing your should’ve, could’ve, would’ves. Don’t answer that text, call, or dm from that person you know is toxic just to feel “loved” on today. Don’t go eat that “free” meal that you know will cost you your soul and peace. Don’t accept those roses that will later be watered with tears. (Yes, I went there). 😉 You know better, so do better. Live better.

There’s a real love awaiting you that will overwhelming drown any love you can search for in this world. This love is free and full of abundance. It is the never ending, reckless love of God. God loves you more than you could ever imagine or think. His love for you goes beyond one day of celebration. It’s more filling and satisfying than any meal, toxic situationship, and materialistic gift. To make things better, God’s love is good for you and good to you.

Whether you’re single, married, divorced, or a widow. Make a conscious decision to receive the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Prioritize the love of God before anyone or anything. Don’t set expectations on the human flesh in an attempt to fill your love plug. Instead, allow the love of God to fill you beyond capacity and in return display that same love to others. Wishing you all a day filled with the love of God. 💕

Happy Valentine’s Day!

“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.” Romans‬ ‭8:38‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” 1 John‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I appreciate you and your words of “real love”. I’m so very thankful that he first loved me.
