Happy Friday my loves! It is my prayer that you are doing well and continuing to stay COVID free. Spring is amongst us and this pollen isn't showing ya girl any mercy. I mean, at this point I'm convinced there's a tiny trace of COVID in this 2021 pollen. SMH! Thank God for allergy meds, as I'm unsure if I'd be able to go outside without it. That's about all that's new in my life. WBU?
My Facebook memories reminded me that 10 years ago today, I was elected college Queen at my Alma Mater. However, I was never able to celebrate the momentous victory. Within a week of my election, I was involved in a physical altercation that in return led to my reign ending fairly quickly.
As I sat in a state of reflection, my heart could only sing praises. Though that was a season in which I felt a number of emotions, it wasn't the end all, be all. Was I hurt? Yes. Was I ashamed? Absolutely. Was I angry? Without a doubt. I was defeated and crushed, filled with embarrassment. How could I have once again allowed anger and frustration to control me? How could I have let down my family, friends, and peers who voted in my favor.
BUT, it all worked together for my good just as our Heavenly Father promised. Though I couldn't see it then, the loss and pain had purpose. Had things gone differently there's no possible way I would be the woman I am today. I would have no testimony to tell to the World about how great our God is. I'm sure I wouldn't have the passion and fuel to write, inspire, and remind women and men around the world that ALL of it (our story) matters.
EVERY part of our stories matter.
EVERY season, matters.
EVERY trial and tribulation, matters.
EVERY hurt, matters.
The pain, matters.
Disappointment, matters.
Losses, matters.
Absolutely NOTHING is wasted! Our loving Father makes it all PURPOSEFUL !
Here's to not only celebrating our victories, but our losses and let downs too. In life, we will face pain, but it's what our Heavenly Father does with it that matters.
How has the Father turned your pain into purpose?
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
