Have you ever considered yourself a failure because you didn't accomplish a goal or task? Prior to this week, I know there has been quite a number of times in my life I considered myself a failure, NOT ANYMORE! In prayer this week, God sent me a message. Failure creates trust, faith, and character.
It is in our failures that we are able to build our trust, faith, and character. Failure, if we aren't careful can push us to a place of independency, instead of dependency on God. In fact, we are unable to acquire or grow in trust, faith, and character without learning to lean and depend solely on God and his plan for our lives.
By definition, failure means an omission of occurrence or performance. A state of inability to perform, a lack of success, or falling short. However, as Kingdom children, failure isn't about the lack thereof. Failure isn't about being incapable. Failure isn't about disqualification. Failure is about knowing there is more ahead. Failure is an indication that growth is happening.
James 1:2-4 TPT says "My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an INVALUABLE opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can. For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up POWER within you to endure all things. And THEN as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until nothing missing and nothing lacking."
As children of the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, we could never "meet this criteria" because of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We don't have to perform or aim to reach worldly success. We are heirs with an inheritance. We have the power of the Holy Spirit within us that allows us to accomplish anything with Christ. Because we are "Kingdom Kids" we have RIGHTS! We have authority, freedom, security, prosperity, assurance, peace, and discipline.
And even if you still "feel" as though you've failed, don't ever forget what the word of God says. 2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT reads "Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works beast in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so the power of Christ can work through me.
Moving forward, I am accepting the challenge to change my perspective and accept my "failures" just as I would success. Will you join me?
