Chaos

Updated: Mar 19, 2020

Greetings family! How y’all feeling out there? Are y’all staying safe? Washing your hands? In the words of Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts and the Mind Your Business Ministry, are you drinking your water and minding your business? I am ! 😆

Ok, so let’s get straight to the point. It’s bizarre out here in these streets. 😳 Like, for real we are only in the THIRD month of this year and decade and so much has happened in so little time.

Let’s recap. We loss Kobe Bryant in January, February the COVID-19 virus started showing up here in the United States and honey March has been full blown crazy. Kids are out of school for a minimum of two weeks. State and local governments have issued curfews and closed establishments. The NBA regular season has been suspended, the NFL is trading and swapping players, sending fans into an uproar. Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, & Kevin Durant all have confirmed cases of the COVID-19 (grabs chest). Disney World, Bath and Body Works, Footlocker, and Express are closed. Chick Fil A and Zaxbys are drive-thru only and chyyyyy grocery store shelves are completely empty. Oh, & there’s NO TISSUE anywhere. How sway? 🤔

The unimaginable is happening, B U T there’s so much joy to have in the midst of all of this chaos. We serve a God that has promised to rescue us.

Today, I was reminded of a few scriptures. The first is Psalms 34:19 “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.” As cliche as it may sound, our situation is NOTHING to our great, big, God. The second is ➡️ “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John‬ ‭16:33‬ 🙌🏾

The third says, “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ 😎 Boast, cry, scream and let God know you’re weak. Feel your emotions and express them to him. He’s gladly waiting to hear all about your troubles and you can trust that he already has a solution in place. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11-13‬ ‭NLT✊🏾 Rejoice and be glad, fam! This is the perfect environment for our miracle working Heavenly Father. Times as such, is where we see God show up and show out in our lives.

Lastly, I’m reminded of the song Hills and Valleys by Tauren Wells. Our God, is the God of the hills and valleys. This means he is just as much involved and active in our lows, as he is in our highs.

Set your heart on these lyrics.

🎶 On the mountains, I will bow my life to the one who set me there. In the valley, I will lift my eyes to the one who sees me there. When I'm standing on the mountain, I didn't get there on my own. When I'm walking through the valley end, no I am not alone! You're God of the hills and valleys! Father, you give and take away. Every joy and every pain, through it all you will remain, over it all! 🙌🏾

Have an amazing week my loves, until next time!

Xoxo,

Rhonda Nikole 😘
