Happy New Year, again, Family!!!! Welcome to 2023! We made it!!!! Cheers to another year!!!!!
Every time I think I'm out here minding my business, here comes the Lord dropping a gem. I'm sure you can agree when I say it's like a badge of honor to fill our cups first. We live in such a self care first focused world. It is easy to find reminders to first focus on ourselves pretty much every where we turn.
We hear and see things that say, practice self-care. What's your self- care routine? How can one improve their self-care? You can't pour from an empty cup and so forth and so on.
To be honest, self-care is like a millennial staple. We can often find it on inspirational stationary items and everything else in between. Our culture literally screams to focus on oneself first, all the time.
Well, the Lord hit me up on my main line and said aht, aht, not today as I journaled about the significance of self-care. And here I was, like wait, what's going on? I thought self-care was good thing, and he instantly whispered, but first SPIRITUAL CARE.
It was in that moment, I was like ooooh, where we going with this Jesus, and he said Rhonda, cling to ME first, ALWAYS. Prioritize filling and nurturing your spiritual woman. Me: ok, Lord, EXPLAIN! Lol. Of course, being the loving friend and Father he is he reminded me that I simply cannot be the best version of myself, without first allowing the Lord to fill spirit woman.
How can I practice self-care if I haven't practiced spending time with my Father in Heaven? How am I able to learn who I truly am at my core without time spent in his presence? How can I take days to care for self without caring for the most important part of me, my spirit woman?
I was instantly blown away, yet, in awe at the same time. It is imperative that our spiritual care comes first. For, it is impossible to care for ourselves properly if our spirit isn't first well.
I pray you have an amazing week my friends.
Scripture: Romans 8:4 NKJV
...that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit...
